Tis' the Season

Eight days until Christmas! Wow. I have so many little gifts to make! We're kind of opting out of lots of gifts this year, we're doing more handmade gifts or gift donations. Think about it, how many gifts from the past few years do you remember? Exactly, I remember some of them, the cool ones or the things that I really wanted. Isn't making a charity contribution a gift that someone else will really remember? Or something that was made just for you, not mass produced? Besides, mass commercialism isn't even close to what Christmas is actually about.
So, I've been pretty busy lately doing stuff with the kids and making everything from ornaments and cookies to sheep, yep, large sheep (for a play). I've been doing some embroidery from a Japanese book series that I love. I think, if I had time, I would embroider everything from these books onto everything in my house. Of course my husband probably wouldn't be quite as thrilled with that as I would be.
I signed up for a PIF over here. I really thought it was a neat idea and I had to be a part of it. So what exactly is this PIF? It's “Pay it Forward” - blog edition, and it goes a little something like this: “I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don't know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, which is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.” So there you have it! I was quite delayed in getting this post up, but now it’s here! (I’m a HUGE procrastinator, but in the end I get the job done. Usually, hehe.) If you are interested, please leave a valid email address and I will get in contact with you!
Merry Christmas!!

Hi there! I found your blog through your Flickr profile. Your Japanese embroideries are so cute! Are these from Vol. 2? I have #2 & #3, and I'm like you, if I had time, I would torture my husband and embroider each design on anything I could think of. ;)

I participated in a PIF earlier this year, and it was a lot of fun. Ok, so I still need to mail 2 packages. I'd love to be one of your recipients, if you'll have me! Let me know.

bummer, I'm #4!!! but I decided in the spirit of PIF I'd just do my own on my blog: http://365projectchange.blogspot.com/

We need a badge or widgit or blinkie or something for PIF
